Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Services Maintenance Engineer, to join our team based at our Confectionery Factory in Halifax. This management role reports to the Industrial Services Manager and is responsible for all elements of the Site that is not linked to the direct production areas and lines.

Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionery brand Quality Street amongst several other well-known brands such as After Eight, Rolo, Matchmakers and Munchies. These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.

A day in the life of an Industrial Services Maintenance Engineer

As the industrial Services Maintenance Engineer, your key objective is to be responsible for ensuring optimal cost, highly efficient, quality and sustained generation and distribution of utilities for the factory operation, i.e steam, refrigeration, water and effluent treatment, hygienic air handling and compressed air etc.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the move from reactive to preventative maintenance by identifying our common recurring issues using root cause analysis and creating maintenance improvement plans

  • Coaching and development of the Technician group within the Industrial Services Team

  • Supporting and challenging your colleagues to maintain all company standards.

  • Ensuring full support to the department for compliance audits

  • Managing small projects and helping to develop future capex plans

    The person that is successful in this role will have the drive to deliver improvements across the site. This role provides the opportunity to develop individually and as part of a highly skilled team as well as giving someone the opportunity to make a real impact.

  • Minimum apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Engineering, ideally dual skilled Electrically biased

  • Manage and prioritise workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • In-depth understanding of problem-solving methodology.

  • Ability to influence by having strong inter person skills.

  • Ability to coach across all levels and work on own initiative.
