Full Job Description

The Production Shift One Manager will manage the day to day glazing operations, planning the shifts activities to ensure targets are met or exceeded while maintaining and improving internal KPI's. They will also take an active part in departmental development and support companywide activities and projects.,

  • Manage the individual performance of team members through the implementation of clear and challenging goals and objectives, and carry out regular reviews of performance during monthly one to ones.
  • Ensure that the shifts training and development needs are identified and plans are implemented to meet the identified needs.
  • Maintain quality and service to customers at all times throughout all aspects of shift operations and drive to improve them.
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal working colleagues.
  • To manage the shifts activities in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
  • Plan and perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce machine downtime in the absence of the maintenance engineers.
  • Use methodical and efficient methods to identify faults and rectify
  • Identify methods to improve machine reliability and production process
  • Provide technical support and advice on machine operations
  • Undertake repair of breakdowns as and when they occur in the absence of the maintenance engineers
  • Comply with all standard operating procedures (SOPS), work instructions or procedures applicable to the role
  • Ensure health and safety and environmental issues/guidelines are followed at all times
  • Ensure clear communication is given to all relevant departments in a timely manner
  • 4. NETWORK OF INTERACTION: INTERNAL : Senior Management Team, Operations Management Team, Site Services Team, Production Team, All Managers, departments and employees in BBGR EXTERNAL : Suppliers, External Contractors

  • Mechanical and electrical qualifications
  • 17th Edition Wiring regulations
  • Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional/personal development
  • Experience of engineering and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety and Environment practices in the work place.
  • Previous experience working within an optics or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team in a proactive and supporting manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and achieve targets
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to take a pro-active approach
  • Self motivated, General education qualifications including Maths and English to GCSE level C or above.
