Full Job Description

Our Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and expertise to our UK&I Service Centres and support our plant based maintenance teams with standards and KPIs and our maintenance system. You'll develop the team delivering improvements in Safety, Quality, Cost and Best Practice Maintenance. CHEP is the largest pallet pooler in the UK. Our pallets are used throughout our customers supply chain, collected from the end user and brought back to our plants, where they're repaired and resprayed. Our Plants operate a variety of automated conveyor and chain systems with a mixture of pneumatics and hydraulics on site. Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest level of safety is maintained at each service centre by providing oversight and expertise in the areas of functional machinery safety
  • Ensure sites are audited and checked for safe operation of equipment
  • Ensure all legislative requirements related to engineering and site services are being met
  • Ensure all electrical and mechanical standards are followed
  • Ensure all best practice and improvements to standards are captured through change request process.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to MTL on maintenance strategy and standards and ensure these are delivered at each service centre.
  • Deploy and maintain CMMS system across regions Service Centres
  • Coordinate maintenance strategy and systems with other regional and European TSM's
  • Ensure critical spares are available through efficient spare parts management
  • Working with Training manager ensure all Technical Training requirements are met
  • Provide Electrical Duty Holder support across all plants.
  • Ensure service contracts are met across all sites.
  • Develop central reference technical library

    Professional Engineering Qualification HNC or Degree level
  • Machinery Safety Qualification (Machinery Safety Expert or C&G)
  • Engineering Maintenance - NVQ 3 or above
  • Ideally you'll be have a NEBOSH certificate
  • PLC/controls professional qualification
  • You'll have worked in engineering management within the manufacturing or process industry
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • CBM experience
  • Biomass experience would also be advantageous, Degree and equivalent - Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferred Level of Work Experience 5 - 7 years Remote Type
