  • Manage contractor's projects, in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain the Home's internal environment by completing basic repairs and redecoration.
  • Maintain the Home's external environment including, outbuilding and gardens.
  • Test all required equipment and maintain a log of work carried out.
  • Ensure new and existing staff are orientated to the building and understand Fire Safety procedures.
  • Regularly test fire alarm systems and support periodic fire evacuation practice.
  • Manage the safe storage of equipment and products required for maintenance e.g. paint, detergents, etc.
  • Test, monitor and record temperatures on domestic hot and cold water and complete legionella checks as required.
  • Check and record all portable electrical appliances that residents bring into the Care Home.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained as per guidelines.

  • Be an experienced multi-skilled all-rounder with general maintenance knowledge / experience such as minor electrical, plumbing, joinery and painting work.
  • Knowledge of the CQC requirements in respect of H&S.
  • Knowledge of current Health and Safety, EHO regulations, COSHH and, Fire Regulations.
  • A clean driving license.
  • An understanding of central heating systems and hot and cold-water systems.
  • Professional at all times and able to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Good time management and ability to work to a deadline.
  • Flexible to meet the need of the service.
  • Ability to manage a small team.
