Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Apprentice to join Olea Care Group.

Working: 37.5 hrs per week over 5 days

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance of the care homes and nursery, with a caring, can-do attitude.

Ideally, as well as being very practical, you'll like dealing with people and are happy building good relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors. Being a multi-tasker who can work well under pressure and use initiative to solve problems. Above all, a team player who takes pride in their work and is committed to maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for our service users, staff and guests.

You will be trained in all aspects of maintenance working alongside an experienced team and study towards the level 2 property maintenance operative certificate.

Your role

The safety of our service users and staff is really important. So your role will be to make sure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard. You'll perform regular checks, carry out repairs and, when needed, contact engineers or service agents. You'll receive training to become confident in fire, basic electrical and appliance checks. Faults must be reported and actioned promptly. We'll also expect you to keep the grounds looking tidy and carry out general redecoration work. As our Maintenance Person, you'll be a valuable member of our friendly, close-knit team, promoting the well-being of our residents and the successful running of our care home.

Full clean driving licence.
Experience of DIY and decorating.
Caring nature.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents.
A Health & Safety or Maintenance qualification is desirable.
