Full Job Description

Maintenance Person based at Coppelia House, Moretonhampstead, Newton Abbot, 37.5 hours per week, including alternate weekends.

£12.25 - £12.75ph

Purpose

Responsibility for the internal and external maintenance, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for the people living in our homes.

The role

As a Maintenance Person you will be responsible for:

· Undertaking general maintenance and repairs

· Using an iPad to track and manage maintenance requests

· Basic plumbing

· Decorating as required

· Regular inspection of the building and grounds for faults, breakages and signs of wear, reporting any concerns to the manager and liaising with the relevant tradesperson where necessary.

· Regular inspection of fire safety equipment, including extinguishers, alarms, smoke detectors and emergency lighting, reporting any faults immediately.

· Routine Health & Safety testing.

· Assisting with removal of furniture and equipment as and when required.

· The maintenance of garden furniture and equipment

· Completing risk assessments on all 'maintenance' products utilised within the home and grounds.

· General cleanliness of the car park, patios, balconies and outbuildings.

· The safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment.

· Shopping for the home as required.

· Attending all mandatory training and any training associated to the role.

· Complying with policy and procedures in relation to infection control and prevention.

· Being full of energy, working hard with plenty of resilience, but going home knowing that you have made a difference to people's lives.

· Contributing to ensuring our home is filled with laughter and love, welcoming new people, visitors and families into the home.

· Treating all people with respect, warmth and kindness.

· Carrying out any other duties as required.
