Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at the Equipment Support Facility. Role Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the serviceability of the Tactical Power Support equipment.
  • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnostic fault finding, inspections and modifications.
  • Report any repairs that are not believed to be through Fair Wear & Tear to the TPS Support Manager.
  • Ensure Work Procedures/Processes are strictly adhered too by the maintenance team.
  • Ensure all JAMES records are kept up to date.
  • Identify equipment that can be refurbished to reduce costs on spares procurement.
  • Carry out training/mentoring of apprentices.
  • Ensure all team members have up to date training modules complete.
  • Provide training for new team members and customers when required.
  • Driving through continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that the facilities, and those that work in the facilities, apply the principles of Quality, Health and Safety, COSHH, Engineering Hygiene, Risk Assessments and safe working practices in a hazardous environment.
  • Ensure that all maintenance areas are kept to good standard of cleanliness by ensuring good housekeeping.

    A recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ3
  • Be highly motivated, strong, confident and articulate. Be client facing and have good people skills and a sound communicator
  • Be able to work in a team and produce a sound working environment and to supervise and mentor all team members
  • Substantial knowledge of the principles and construction of power generation and electrical distribution and the working of their major components
  • 3 years' experience in the assembly, refurbishment and testing
  • A thorough understanding of the operation and testing of electrical systems
  • Planned and reactive maintenance management, including scheduling major servicing & minor refurbish/regeneration programs.
  • Working within an ISO 9001 compliant environment
  • Understanding and appreciation of the underlying principles of ISO 14000 and ISO 18000 compliance. Have a comprehensive knowledge of Lean Engineering & Quality Inspection techniques
  • The candidate is expected to be computer literate in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook.
