Full Job Description

The role of the Estates Supervisor ( Electrical) is to lead a multidisciplinary team providing a comprehensive Healthcare engineering maintenance service to all wards and departments within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
You will encourage team working, by providing the varied skills that support the department's philosophy and flexible working. Training will be available in elements required but the post holder will have sound Engineering skills and be expected to acquire the skills required to support this flexibility in a safe and professional manner. The post holder will be expected to work across the Trust., The core duty of the role is to supervise team members and
contractors, provide practical instruction to staff and contractors
and to act mentor for team members and apprentices to assist in
their development and to compile and monitor training
programmes.
Act as Authorised Person/ Responsible Officer in relation to
specific maintenance responsibilities e.g. Medical Gases, HV, LV,
Lifts.
Maintain operate & review the pre-planned maintenance
programme to review & revises procedures and working practices
where required.
The post holder will be required to participate in the Estates out of
hour's on-call service.

Financial management - assist in the management of the estates revenue and capital budgets in line with delegated authorisation limits and in accordance with the Trust policies and procedures.
SERVICE DELIVERY & DEVELOPMENT
To undertake relevant research with other NHS organisations including Foundation Trusts to assist with learning and service development of the department to meet the needs of the Trust.
To develop and implement benefit realisation plans to ensure the successful delivery of benefits from the deployment of revenue and capital investment.
To continually review performance against KPI's, proactively addressing areas of concern.
Actively participate in the control and transfer of information systems including completion of all paperwork required. (Including completion of all job dockets and timesheets). To participate in regular team briefings.
Understand and adhere to Trust policies and procedures pertinent to the role.
Participate in the Trust Appraisal system and Personal Development planning
GOVERNANCE
Responsible for ensuring that consistently high standards of customer service are delivered by effective monitoring of internal and external service lines.
Regular contact with nursing staff at ward level.
PATIENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE

GENERAL
You will be required to participate in the Estate Managers on call rota, with attendance on site during un-social hours to meet the needs of the Trust.
To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
Day to day management of the Maintenance team and contractors whilst on site.
Use of computer equipment including specific software packages for Planned Maintenance and BMS management.
Plan and prioritise maintenance activities including liaison with end users, contractors and specialist agencies managing conflicting demands.
Undertake surveys, audits and Estate condition surveys as required.
Exchange maintenance and project related technical information with Estates departments.
You will be required to maintain compliance with all statutory and mandatory training requirements.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The post holder will maintain good communications and working relationships with;
Members of Trust staff at all levels including nursing staff,
Estates Supervisors.
Estates Managers.
All Estates and Facilities staff across all disciplines.
External Agencies/ Specialist sub-contractors.
Emergency services.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
