Full Job Description

Position Overview

In this role, you will be reporting directly to the site Facilities Manager and will be a key player in supporting the contract team to deliver a high-quality service. Your main responsibility will be to maintain the upkeep of designated areas by performing specific duties as directed. You will have the ability to work independently without supervision.

While your primary base will be at one site, you will also be expected to cover shifts at our two other sites, both of which are within a 10-mile radius.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks. You will be tasked with general porterage, cleaning (including cell cleaning), and decorating duties as requested by the Facilities Manager. This includes maintaining the internal and external entrances and surrounds.

You will liaise with Mitie staff and management on the day-to-day running of the building and report any issues relating to operation and appearance. You will also conduct routine checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimum conditions are maintained.

You will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on a regular basis. You will address minor internal issues such as blocked drains, toilets, minor spillages, and the replacement of light bulbs and lamps.

You will also carry out minor repairs to property, fixtures, fittings, and equipment. Painting and decorating tasks will be carried out as agreed and directed by management.

You will assist in setting up rooms for the business day, which includes handling AV equipment, sound systems, media systems, setting up furniture, and other tasks as required by customers. You will also assist with any other duties commensurate with the post for the effective provision of service.

You will receive and check goods and supplies and take them to the appropriate place for storage. You will report any breakdowns or faults and be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in. Cell cleaning will also be part of your duties.
