Full Job Description

  • -Implement the requirements of the De Beers Group reporting timetable for De Beers UK Limited and related UK corporate entities to ensure that all activities are completed within the set timelines including:

  • + preparation and completion of month end reporting and CFO reports for submission in HFM (Group Consolidation system);
    + preparation of management accounts for De Beers UK Limited on a monthly basis;
    + ownership of balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to prepayments, accruals, GR/IR, defined benefit pension fund and fixed assets;
    + preparation, input and completion of forecasts and annual budgets in Onestream and HFM, including income statement, balance sheet and cashflows;
    + completion of stat notes in HFM and Group templates at both interim and year end; and
    + completion of the long term strategic plan within HSF and ultimately Onestream
  • Custodian of De Beers UK Corporate entities periodic cash flow, including monitoring GBP and other currencies and liaising with Treasury as required.

  • Responsible for managing intercompany confirmations for both month end reporting and forecast/budget reporting and ensuring that intercompany recharges are booked by the responsible individuals in the underlying ledger.

  • Monthly SAP requirements such as posting journals and running monthly reports as part of the month end process.

  • Manage the De Beers UK diamond inventory position.

  • Preparation of the Annual Financial Statements of De Beers UK Limited, De Beers Corporate Secretary Limited,The Diamond Trading Company Limited and De Beers Capital Southern Africa Limited.

  • Responsibility for impairment reviews on investments annually as part of the Corporate entities' financial statements process.

  • Being a key liaison with the external audit team for the De Beers UK corporate entities, specifically preparing relevant audit evidence and assistance with the external audit of De Beers UK Limited;

  • Working closely with Group Tax and external tax advisors to complete the De Beers UK corporate entities tax requirements, including completing the De Beers UK tax pack.

  • Responsible for performing the quarterly tax control framework procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining and socialising De Beers UK Finance policies and procedures (with support of the Senior Finance Manager).

  • Assisting with the establishment, design, and implementation of an effective controls framework, specifically in respect of the bi-annual valuations of the defined benefit pension fund, whilst ensuring a strong internal control environment is maintained to satisfy Internal Audit and external regulatory requirements.

  • Responsibility for completing the Office for National Statistics (ONS) requirements as and when required.

  • Assisting with concur uploads, concur to HR data checks, processing of pension invoices/recharges and other ad hoc finance and admin tasks as required.

  • Responsibility for the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the De Beers UK corporate entities.

    -Qualified accountant (0-2 years PQE) from an auditing background in professional practice

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ideally with SAP, Onestream, HFM and FDM

  • The Job Holder has no supervisory responsibility for staff but will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis, and must therefore be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills, and will have the motivation and drive to be an integral part of process and system improvements

  • Technical accounting knowledge and experience of statutory reporting requirements.

  • A relevant accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
