Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusivity drives us to continually improve our culture, ensuring that everyone feels heard and welcomed., To support the finance team by being an extra resource during a period of change to our systems and process', to support both the Finance Manager and Management accountant to enable the smooth running of the finance operation whilst systems projects are underway, This is a hands on role and is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager (FM) and the other Management Accountant (MA) in all aspects of the monthly accounting needs for the business from Compiling and reconciling the balance sheets through to invoice processing if needed.

Further duties to include but not limited to:

  • To generally Assist/cover the FM & MA in the day to day running of the finance team at the transactional level.

  • Assist/cover in the Preparation of monthly management accounts and relevant supporting reconciliations in accordance with the agreed deadlines.

  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in accordance to the agreed timetables

  • Assist/cover The AP clerk by coding & processing invoices if needed.

  • Assist/cover The AP clerk withthe weekly Payment run as required.

  • Assist/cover in the preparation of monthly group reporting packs.

  • Assist/cover in the preparation of the government statistics returns.

  • Prepayments and accruals for the monthly accounting process.

  • Assist/cover in the development of financial reporting and developing the junior members of the team.

  • Assist/cover FM where appropriate in the development projects.

    Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Intranet (SharePoint)

  • Sun Accounts

  • Lloyds On-line Banking System

  • Power BI

  • SQL (basic/intermediate knowledge), Advanced Excel skills.

  • Five years management accounts experience.

  • Experience of using accounting software (ideally with some exposure to Sun Accounts).

  • Experience of HMRC on-line VAT filing

  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Capable of dealing with general problems or queries where appropriate.


  • Desirable:
  • Accountancy qualification.

  • Relevant degree.

  • Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent), with GCSE grades A-C in English & Maths (or equivalent)

  • Change management experience.

  • A good understanding of on-line banking platforms

  • Experience of co-ordinating a team.

  • Experience of working in a multi-currency environment.

  • Considerable experience within a professional services environment, An excellent communicator (oral and written)

  • Demonstrate open and honest communication, Ability to work well within a team

  • Foster an atmosphere of collaborative working, Highly customer focussed both internally and externally, having a flexible approach to identify and deliver business and/or client requirements.

  • Attention to detail, whilst ability to keep perspective and make informed decisions.

  • An ability to prioritise tasks effectively, work to tight deadlines and under pressure

  • Flexibility in task management and adaptability to change

  • Personable, organised, self-motivated, with ability to use own initiative and work to tight deadlines., Naturally inquisitive with an ability to interrogate and develop internal systems and processes with continuous improvement techniques.

  • View change as a positive and an opportunity to develop, The successful candidate will have three years management accounts experience and experience of using accounting software. We will consider Part Qualified Management Accountants.
