Full Job Description

The post holder will be responsible for providing a proactive management accounting service to one of the Trust's divisions. This includes working closely with Senior Managers and Clinicians within the Trust, advising on financial issues and dealing with complex financial matters and enquiries.

The Management Accountant will be expected to produce monthly budget statements from the ledger in accordance with the Trust reporting timetables and high quality financial reports and analyses, including non-financial data and identifies and explains directorate variances and trends.

They will support the finance manager with the directorate's annual budget setting, regular budget holder meetings and preparing forecasts and performance reports.

The post holder is expected to ensure a customer focused service is delivered to the divisions and provide technical finance support to non-finance colleagues.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join London North West Healthcare's Financial Management team to provide financial advice and management accounting support to a number of budget holders. The post holder will support all aspects of financial management, including liaising with budget holders, maintenance of monthly reporting and budget setting. This will also include variance analysis, analysis of pay, non-pay.

Candidates need to be, as a minimum, AAT qualified and possess sufficient recent and relevant experience in accounts. Effective spread sheet skills, experience of computerised financial ledgers, budgeting and reporting systems are fundamental to the role. The ideal candidate will be pro-active with strong communication skills and have good analytical skills.

The post requires good technical competence combined with the ability to communicate effectively.

Previous experience of the NHS is desirable but not essential.
