Full Job Description
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller (FC) and Head of Business (HoB), this role will be pivotal in providing accurate and timely Management Accounts to assist Department Managers in making informed commercial decisions. If you are an experienced accountant with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative approach, we would love to hear from you! What you'll be doing:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled.
- Advisory: Advise Departmental Managers on financial performance, margins, costs, and overheads, comparing actual results to the budget.
- Commentary: Provide commentary on the management accounts and support non-financial managers in understanding the accounts.
- Submissions: Submit monthly accounts information to BMW.
- Budgeting: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for various departments within the dealership.
- Forecasting: Provide financial forecasting and variance analysis to support business planning.
- Cost Control: Analyse and control operational costs to maximise profitability.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct financial performance analysis, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Cash Cycle: Support the Financial controller to ensure an optimum cash operating cycle by careful control of creditors, debtors, and stock.
- Collaboration: Work closely with department managers to provide financial insights and support.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to processes and practices where possible.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience in the motor trade. - Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in management accounting, ideally within the automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience of Keyloop (Kerridge) DMS system will be an advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
The salary is up to £64,250 per annum with on target earnings of £70,000 including company performance related bonus. Hours: 37.50 hours per week Monday - Friday., As well as all the other standard employee benefits including Pension, Life assurance, Cycle2Work, Highstreet Discount vouchers, and long service awards we offer; - Private Healthcare.
