Full Job Description

The Research Nurse is expected to support the management and leadership of the research nurses and administrative staff within the research team. S / he will have knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks related to the planning, undertaking, and closure of clinical research studies, including Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products, and therefore acts as a resource for staff, researchers, research participants, and patients. S / he will take a lead in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of a designated number of clinical research studies.

The Medical Research team leads on supporting Principal Investigators (PI) in the setup and delivery of research in the division of medicine. The team is based in the purpose-built Medical Research Unit. This facility offers the ability to conduct early and late-phase studies including overnight studies. Areas covered by the team include Rheumatology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Lipid studies, Respiratory, CF and Hepatology.

The Research Nurse will report to the Research Sister and the team is part of the division of medicine. Research studies are delivered within the trust., children, young people and vulnerable adults.
