Full Job Description

Willmott Dixon are looking to recruit a Management trainee to specialise in Quantity Surveying in our East Midlands team. Quantity Surveying plays a vital role in ensuring that construction projects are delivered on time and within budget, while also providing value for money for our customers. Throughout the project lifecycle, a Quantity Surveyor will monitor and control costs, identify and address potential cost overruns, track changes to the project scope, and ensure that the project remains financially viable. This is a key role in ensuring we deliver a profitable project within our customer's budget. As part of our trainee programme, you will focus on quantity surveying but will also complete placements in other departments within our business including site management, design management and other areas of pre-construction which will give you exposure to the construction process from start to finish. This provides you with broad construction experience and will help support you with your career in the future. You will get experience of delivering projects across multiple sectors and will work in a hybrid way from our offices and sites mainly across the East Midlands.

We welcome applications from school and college leavers with A Levels, T levels or equivalent qualifications, Skilled Tradespeople and Graduates who are passionate about building a career in construction and live in the East Midlands or are willing to relocate there. Our management trainee programme is 2-5 years in duration(depending upon your entry point) and will give you the chance to earn while you learn and give you valuable work experience alongside part-time study for a relevant qualification that is paid for by Willmott Dixon. Upon graduation from this programme you will progress into an Assistant Quantity Surveyor role. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong numeracy skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Be Analytical.
  • Enjoy communicating.
  • Be commercially aware.
