Full Job Description

Contributes to the overall success of Total Rewards and the Human Resources Function in Europe by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with remuneration regulation requirements of the PRA/FCA & the EBA and internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.


  • Manage the annual calendar of remuneration-related governance and compliance activities for the UK and Ireland, including internal meeting dates, documentation, records and external regulatory filings / deadlines. Works closely with a variety of internal stakeholders in the UK, Ireland and Toronto to ensure all timelines are met.


  • Support the UK and Ireland Remuneration Oversight Committees, BNSL Remuneration Committee and SIDAC Remuneration and Nomination Committee on remuneration-related matters by assisting with agenda planning, material preparation, management of timelines and input from multiple sources (Total Rewards, Legal / Corporate Secretaries, etc.), co-ordination of executive reviews, note-taking and subsequent preparation of meeting minutes, etc.


  • Prepare remuneration-related regulatory reports and filings (e.g., the Remuneration Benchmarking report, Pillar 3 reports, High Earners reports, UK Material Risk Taker exclusion report, Gender pay gap report, etc.) as well as policy and procedural documents (e.g., UK and SIDAC Addendums to BNS Compensation Policy, Clawback Policy addendums, Fixed Pay Allowance Policy, MRT identification procedures, buy-out procedures, etc.), by providing relevant data and information and reviewing drafts for accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements.


  • Support all internal audit or compliance-led reviews on remuneration-related matters in the UK and Ireland.


  • Maintain the UK and Ireland MRT lists and associated documentation


  • Support with remuneration regulatory rules mapping, by tracking and maintaining relevant rules gap analysis for the UK and Ireland (including maintenance of the iRCM regulatory rules and controls libraries). Supports with respect to recruitment and/or executive appointments, year-end incentive planning, remuneration benchmarking and collaborating with HR Business partners on relevant projects.


  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
