Full Job Description

  • Managing assurance engagements including working to agree timetables; developing the scope of work and deliverable; developing appropriate work programmes; reviewing the testing and assurance fieldwork; completing engagement and client acceptance procedures; resolving day to day issues; drafting final reporting and project management.
  • Completing the first review of documentation on the assurance file in line with KPMG's quality standards and our internal KKPMG Execution Guide for Assurance (KEGA). It will be your responsibility to ensure this task is conducted in a thorough and complete manner.
  • Managing engagements in line with the assurance standards ISAE (UK) 3000 and ISAE 3410 or equivalent.
  • Juggling multiple client requests when working on different sustainability/ESG Assurance engagements.
  • Coaching and overseeing work performed by junior staff and Assistant Managers.
  • Performance managing junior team members, ensuring that you are having rich development conversations that supports their growth and career progression.
  • Supporting the Senior Manager in engagement finances and budgeting.
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and acting as an ambassador for the firm.
  • Supporting the Senior Manager/Director/Partner in identifying and pursuing new assurance opportunities.
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve sustainability/ESG assurance issues., With 20 sites across the UK, we can potentially facilitate office work, working from home, flexible hours, and part-time options.     Experience in financial statement audit. (E)
  • Experience in a sustainability/environmental related field, including delivering and managing sustainability/other assurance engagements for large clients under ISAE (UK) 3000. (D)
  • Strong understanding of industry reporting frameworks and regulations such as the CSRD, ISSB, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), TCFD and the GHG Protocol. (E)
  • Experience in the review and development of Audit/Assurance working papers. (E)
  • Understands relevant technical reporting standards, regulations and ESG literature. Exhibits and stays current on appropriate industry and specialised ESG knowledge, and leverages methodologies to deliver assurance engagements.
  • Professional scepticism and issue identification: Applies professional scepticism, objectivity and independence to identify and support resolution of potential assurance issues.
  • Engagement management: Manages and executes the engagement, including project management, team management and remediation of deviations from the assurance plan and timeline.
  • Evaluation of assurance results: Evaluates evidence from assurance procedures to determine if assurance objectives were achieved.
