We have an exciting and challenging opportunity to join McDonald's dynamic Global Internal Audit (GIA) team as a Manager. This role supports the International GIA team to deliver risk-based assurance and advisory services across both International Operated Markets and International Developmental Licensed Markets. McDonald's Global Internal Audit (GIA) provides an essential service to both Senior Management and the Global Audit Committee to support and help the Company succeed in accomplishing its strategic and operational objectives. You will provide independent and objective assurance and advice over the effectiveness of McDonald's governance, risk management and internal control processes through managing operational, compliance, financial and financial reporting (SOX) audit engagements. You will champion continuous process improvement within the Company and Global Internal Audit and develop our employees for future roles. What will my accountabilities be?

  • Assist in executing the annual risk assessment activities and developing the audit plan
  • Manage successful completion of a portion of the audit plan, ensuring all audits activities are successfully completed on-time and on-budget
  • Earn leadership trust by effectively managing sensitive risk/ audit discussions, communications, & deliverables
  • Provide meaningful, technical, and hands-on guidance during assessments of areas
  • Ensure deliverables are of high-quality through effective oversight, direct involvement & thought leadership
  • Lead internal infrastructure projects, increasing the department's capabilities and contributing to the continuous improvement of the audit function
  • Build/grow a high-performing team through mentoring, training, & timely/candid performance feedback
  • What Team will I be a part? You will be part of the Global Internal Audit team, internationally based, which forms part of the Global Finance Team. Global Internal Audit operates in a matrixed structure with office presence in Chicago, London and Munich. The Global Internal Audit team are forward-thinking, agile, and supportive and are highly regarded amongst partners across the business. You will be responsible for three Internal Audit Supervisors. Our team's priorities are to: be a strategic business partner, provide innovative and efficient internal audit services, and drive results through people. Who are my customers? You will collaborate and partner with:
  • McDonald's Corporate Functions: Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Franchising, Operations/RSG etc.
  • Senior Management and Functional Leads in McDonald's International Operated Markets and International Developmental Licensed Markets
  • International Business Unit teams who oversee and support the International Developmental Licensed Markets
  • McDonald's External Audit

    Solid understanding of both internal control and risk management frameworks and keen eye for identifying risk
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder relationship building skills at all levels (both oral and written)
  • Experienced project and people manager able to juggle multiple priorities and mentor team members on technical concepts
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel internationally
  • Desirable:
  • Natural desire to stay abreast of technical concepts and best practices
  • Intercultural competence to work in an international environment
  • Analytical, problem solving, & critical thinking skills with data analytics experience
  • Experience of process improvement and an ability to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to influence and quickly partner with customers
  • High-energy, resilience, ability to work well under pressure through broad and diverse experiences.
  • Qualifications:
  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Finance or Management discipline
  • Professionally qualified or (CIA/CMIIA), Certified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is strongly preferred; others are a plus (such as CISA, CMA)
  • If not professionally qualified, applicants should have demonstrable audit experience
