This is a unique opportunity to join a team dedicated to implementing significant change by enhancing client service excellence and driving process innovation. The manager role is crucial to the Firm's strategy, aiming to deliver an improved client experience, increase profitability, and showcase operational efficiency as part of the global Legal Project Management (LPM) team. This team collaborates with lawyers to manage client portfolios, co-deliver projects, and work with clients and their in-house legal and operational teams.

The LPM Manager must understand and assess business and change management needs and have experience delivering complex projects across various functions, teams, geographies, and industries. They will have the chance to influence and expand the LPM capability, possibly taking on line management responsibilities for Senior Analysts/Analysts and contributing to the development of junior team members, all while effectively managing project delivery with limited supervision.,

  • Collaborate with LPM leadership to build LPM capability and influence adoption by Partners and lawyers

  • Manage and co-deliver legal projects by organising meetings, defining project scope, tracking timelines, and managing budgets

  • Implement effective risk management and corrective actions, leading post-project reviews and Lessons Learned workshops

  • Utilise project management tools to draft project documents, including plans, schedules, and status reports

  • Ensure effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, legal teams, external counsel, and vendors

  • Provide LPM guidance on best practices, tools, roles, and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with legal teams on resource allocation, budget proposals, and tracking project costs against budgets

  • Foster a collaborative approach between project workstreams, lawyers, and clients.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of LPM processes, methodologies, and training, with a focus on lean principles and innovation

  • Manage concurrent projects, client portfolios, and strategic client initiatives, emphasising legal operations, disputes, and transactions

  • Line-manage junior team members as needed, and support LPM leadership in bids, tenders, and pitches

  • Contribute to LPM training development and delivery, identifying opportunities to cross-sell LPM services globally

  • Serve as a key contact for Partners and senior stakeholders, fostering collaboration across departments and with clients

    Experience in client-facing roles with 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Formal project management qualification (e.g., APMQ or PMP) and a strong academic record, preferably at graduate level

  • Experience in Legal Project Management, including managing project teams and complex, multi-jurisdictional matters with global legal teams

  • Proficient in change management, legal tech tools, extranets, data rooms, collaboration tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Power BI)

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills, with an understanding of law firm financial metrics

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and meet tight deadlines with a "can do" attitude

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact with senior stakeholders, negotiate, and achieve successful outcomes

  • Advanced organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload

  • Flexible, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-moving, detail-oriented environment, with sensitivity to cultural differences across project teams

    This role is based in London, and reports into the Director, Legal Project Management.
    Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week.
