Full Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work within the Industry 4.0 M.E. Department. Supporting all operations areas of the Titchfield site. Providing day to day support to the production areas in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals, leveraging corporate Industry 4.0 tools. What you'll do:
- Helps to improve processes by the means of new technologies and proactively ensure timely completion of issues to enable production to meet customer requirements.
- Act upon task instructions from Lead/ Senior ME to maintain performance indicators, and take appropriate actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met, as well as assisting the manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.
- Contribute to the deployment of robust manufacturing processes that assure high quality products.
- Manage Industrial and Operational networks (OT) and interface with IT network to provide data for process control and monitoring.
- Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system requirements.
- Assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product.
- Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities.
- Provide commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance, focusing on strategic value streams.
- Work as liaison to divisional I4.0 team to align technologies to be implemented and follow up approved protocols.
- Assures that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship.
Experience in manufacturing principles - PFMEA, PPAP, value stream mapping, process flow, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) creation. - Knowledge of microcontrollers (programming and software development, troubleshooting and debugging, and able to support safety-critical applications).
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing.
- BOM (Bill Of Materials) and Routing audits, knowledge of Laser Part Marking procedures, understanding of Engineering drawings.
- Experience with supply chain support, Continuous Improvement / process improvements. Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving. Skills:
- Experience extracting data from PLC's and usage of OPC, SQL and Kepware servers for 'Manufacturing Execution System' interface.
- Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and I4.0 projects and manage capital expenditure.
- Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines.
- Provide cost benefit analysis for capital projects.
- Fast learning to develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert.
