Full Job Description

  • You will be responsible for delivering the Cowes manufacturing transformation from low-quantity manufacture to higher throughput
  • You will create multiple assembly areas for equipment cabinet production and upgrade
  • Generate a systems integration area for an experimental & third-party system
  • You will enhance the In-Service support capabilities to be world class in order to continue to meet challenging availability regimes, across spares, repairs, and major refurbishment
  • You will ensure that material storage meets the needs across the manufacturing projects and increase manufacturing capacity for core radar products & provision for growth opportunities
  • Lead by example in supporting a safe system of work ensuring compliance with all company SHE policies and procedures
  • Closely manage the coordination of activities across production engineering, logistics, and assembly integration and test (AIT) teams for maximum efficiency
  • You will be responsible for providing assurance that you and your team are trained and compliant with all relevant internal, legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • Give regular feedback to team leaders and peers on their individual contribution and performance, taking appropriate corrective action where performance of the team falls below defined standards

  • The Radar team: The BAE Systems Radar Team undertakes the design, development, manufacture, integration, and test of Radar Systems. We are the supplier of the ARTISAN Radar equipment, fitted to the Type-23, Type-26, and Queen Elizabeth class ships, and the SAMPSON Radar equipment which is fitted to the Type-45 Destroyers, and we provide long-range air defence systems to the Royal Air Force.
