Full Job Description

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and the communities where they live. If you want to do more because you care, we'd love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW We are looking for a Market Strategy Manager to join our Wholesale Market Unit. Do you have experience navigating issues with stakeholders, got an understanding of what drives market performance, and knowledge of the utility's world? Then this may be the ideal role for you! This role is based primarily in our headquarter offices in Coventry but will require some travel to our Derby office. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing stakeholder relationships across a variety of industry and regulatory bodies. This is a key role at Severn Trent, and we're looking for someone who can confidently navigate senior-level interactions both within the company and in the non-household market. You'll need the right skills and presence to make a real impact. You'll be the face of Severn Trent in market groups and the Market Performance Committee. So, it's important to have a complete understanding of any submissions being made. Additionally, you'll be responding to market consultations, review of panel documents and you'll deliver any change proposals identified to all market groups, to gain trading party buy-in before submission. This includes spotting best practices and keeping up with legal and regulatory changes. This way, our proposals will meet market standards and remain compliant. Inside the company, you'll be working with our change and transformation teams to keep everything running smoothly between departments. If any issues pop up, you'll make sure they get escalated and resolved quickly to keep our market changes on track.

You'll possess a strong ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders across various business areas, with proven experience in the water or utilities sector and at a senior leadership level, and strong business acumen and relationship-building skills. Does this sound like you? Good understanding of market performance drivers is essential. Strong analytical skills and commercial thinking are both fundamentals for the ideal candidate. Furthermore, you should be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills to clearly inform about ongoing delivery and results, and to constructively challenge senior individuals when necessary. Experience with regulatory committees and knowledge of utility regulation complexities would be a bonus but is not essential. The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
