Full Job Description

This is a full-time, one-year fixed post based at our Lancaster campus, where hybrid on-site and home working is currently offered subject to line manager approval. A minimum of two days must be worked on campus including Thursdays. Preference to fully work on campus can be accommodated if desired. Please note that this post will require you to work during the clearing and confirmation period - usually mid-August around A level results day. Leave during this period will be restricted.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lancaster University's External Relations Division for one year to cover a secondment. A team player, you should have excellent communications skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and the confidence to work with multiple personalities with competing requirements.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, this role supports both the Internal Communications and Marketing teams by creating high quality engaging and compelling written content.

Are you passionate about developing great content? We are looking for a creative content specialist who can adapt their copywriting style to meet the diverse needs of our current and prospective students. You will contribute towards a range of channels, producing online news stories, digital marketing content, email newsletters and display media. As well as creative writing skills, you should have excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all areas of work. Good IT and analytical skills are essential. As is the ability to work on your own initiative and respond to creative briefs.

Experience of using content management systems and design, photo-editing and email marketing software would be an advantage but are not essential as training and support will be provided.

This is a busy role and you must have the ability to multi-task, to self-motivate and to manage your own workload. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is essential.
