Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Marketing Specialists at the 422
Air Base Squadron, Royal Air Force Croughton, United Kingdom. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the
marketing and promotion programs for business and recreational activities to include the development and implementation of
marketing strategies and supervise marketing personnel for the 422d Air Base Squadron. The incumbent will develop surveys
and perform marketing analysis to identify needs and wants of a varied audience; will develop and recommend marketing and
publicity plans, policies, procedures, strategies, and programs using established management principles and pertinent
regulations by conducting evaluation of programs and services implemented through market research; will develop annual
budget and resource requirements to meet program objectives. The incumbent will also provide advertising media and
implement promotional programs for Services activities. Will also serve as the commercial sponsorship program focal point for
all unsolicited and solicited commercial sponsorship ventures. They will provide public affairs and public relations services for
the Services Squadron with other base agencies. They will plan and prepares advertisements for publication in newspapers,
billboard displays, etc. to inform customers on programs and services. They will also perform first level supervisory personnel
management responsibilities.,

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using a high degree of tact and diplomacy, to prepare and

  • present surveys, reports, proposals, and press releases.

  • Hours of work: 0800-1630 Mon-Fri Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with

  • Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules,

  • and regulations.
  • Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

  • May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary

  • training.
  • Position may be coded as mission essential.

  • A 6-month probationary period will be required.

  • May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary

  • training.
  • May be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set

  • of the incumbent.

  • The incumbent must have either Specialized experience OR a master's degree in an appropriate discipline related to the

  • position or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such degree.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and marketing policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques to evaluate

  • strengths or weaknesses, and to develop new or alter existing programs to meet desired goals and promote patronage.
  • Knowledge of market research methods and techniques to perform research analysis, develop surveys, evaluate, and

  • establish promotional strategies to identify customer needs.
  • Ability to supervise employees using knowledge of personnel management regulations and procedures required to hire,

  • train, and appraise employees, and skill to teach marketing techniques to employees.
  • Ability to recognize and define problem areas, apply marketing research techniques, and analyze information for

  • presentation to management.
