Full Job Description
As a Marketplace Product Merchandising Manager, you will make a difference by:
- Understand competitive EMEA markets and consumers to ensure assortment and categories properly position The North Face to grow and gain market share within JD Sports.
- Define business opportunities within the account using hyper local consumer insights and data to build supplementary products to close business gaps. Which would include monitoring big trends, ST data and marketplace as well as driving global alignment.
- Develop account orientated pricing, ranging and product strategy to support category NS, margin and growth targets aligned with EMEA HQ stakeholders.
- Implement long term product strategic direction for JD Sports, manage and drive growth of Icons and established franchises including effective and logical product lifecycle management.
- Own the account, category, and gender KPI's, including revenue, SKU count, margins. Plan Product and colour lifecycles for the key exclusive and NEW Franchises. Plan appropriate innovation and newness by season.
- Manage SKU productivity and efficiency to targeted goals while balancing EMEA regional, channel and account specific needs.
- Development of direct report (Product Merchandiser) wider mentor/coach for team and team intern.
Must have 8+ years of experience in branded merchandise/development, retail buying or product design/development; experience in an EMEA Performance, Outdoor or Sportswear apparel. - Strong understanding of EMEA marketplace, including regional differences, across diverse channels of distribution.
- Account product management experience, including responsibility for product and category margin targets, product execution/development, and evaluation. Line planning with logical architecture. Product composition, price and colour critical.
- Clear understanding of product creation/development lifecycle in performance lines, lifestyle executions and cotton programmes. A full understanding of fabric execution, AOP application and trims cycles.
- Experience in strategic planning, combined with knowledge of retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities.
- Experience in product forecasting and/or statistical product modelling.
- Experience in managing/developing a team or individual towards growth potential.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, strong cross functional collaboration skills required.
- Strong presentation skills, proven ability to influence internal and external business partners and customers.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
