Full Job Description

Tameside Council has been successful in securing significant funding from the Department of Levelling up, Housing and Communities with a focus on improving and enhancing Tameside's Markets offer. This includes the redevelopment of Ashton Market Square, enhancement of the food, drink and creative offer at Ashton Market Hall, and delivery of monthly market events such as Stalybridge Street Fest.

We are an innovative organisation with ambitious growth plans and are looking for candidates with a positive attitude to join Tameside Council as we continue our journey to enhance our Markets and Town Centres.

The role will oversee operational management, maintenance and use of the Council's markets portfolio. You will support in the development and delivery of our Town Centre and Markets strategy, working towards commercial excellence, financial robustness and vibrant growth.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual who can lead on the development and delivery of initiatives that contribute to the economic development of the Borough.

The post holder must have a thorough understanding of how town centres, retail and leisure sectors operate successfully.

This post requires an excellent communicator , who can manage and deliver high profile and complex projects in collaboration with multiple stakeholders

About You

You will have experience of leading service areas through change/redesign and have excellent communication skills.

You will be experienced in establishing a positive performance culture that has delivered successful results

You will have the ability to approach issues and challenges creatively.

You will have strategic vision and the ability to forward plan
