Full Job Description
We are looking for a talented Material Controller to join the company, to be based out of our facility in Merthyr Tydfil. This role will be 18 months in duration on an FTC basis. We are seeking experience gained within a Materials / Production environment, possibly in capacities such as Material Control, Configuration Analyst or Production Control. - Reporting status to the Master Scheduler and highlighting areas where assistance is required and flagging any potential delays to production.
- Working closely with Manufacturing and Stores functions to ensure the production schedule is adhered to.
- Co-ordinating shipments and returns to and from off-site locations.
- Creation of As-Built (A-0096) records, including evidencing the embodiment of change and closure of concessions. You will have a good understanding of programme requirements, maintain action records, chase and expedite outstanding deliveries, highlight shortages and hold the internal customer to account. You will be a problem solver with a positive attitude and good organisational skills. Other duties:
- Utilising MRP reports and following actions in the supply chain to ensure material is ordered and delivered to meet production requirements.
- Prioritising of kits to support build plans.
- Tracks and reports on the configuration of the As-Built standard of manufactured assemblies in accordance with business processes and contractual requirements in preparation for delivery to the customer. - Proficient with Microsoft work packages - detailed Excel knowledge is essential with the ability to understand and modify macros.
- Experience in a busy production environment with high value operations and complex components.
- Good experience gained within a Materials / Production environment, possibly in capacities such as Material Control, Configuration Analyst or Production Control.
- Excellent working knowledge of material control philosophies and practices in a wide range of environments.
- A good knowledge of SAP material management system (or alternative ERP system).
- Kitting material to the shop floor with SAP (or alternative ERP system).
- Experience of having worked with multi-functional teams.
- Key Competencies: Excellent communicator, able to hold others accountable to agreed actions, personal accountability, building relationships, planning for results, customer first mindset, adaptability.
- Capable of obtaining SC - Security Clearance

In order to be successful a background in Automotive, Aerospace or Defence would be highly advantageous. This role requires the ability to work with large quantities of materials and coordinate large scales manufacturing with over 100 parts.
