Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Material Handler to join Line 7 in Thetford. Line 7 manufacture water for irrigation which is used in hospitals worldwide. The line is mostly automated with a small percentage being manual. The role of Material Handler ensures the quality of the products is of a high standard and that the availability of process equipment is at the correct point in the process at the correct time working closely with the Team Leader. You will be required to use a forklift however full training will be offered for this.,

  • Comply with EHS/GMP/GDP/company and corporate policies and external regulatory requirements. This includes raise EHS observation cards

  • Operate within the Baxter documentation procedures and requirements meeting all safety quality and performance guidelines.

  • Role Identifies quality defects and reject them, escalate issues to the team leader

  • Role maintains the optimum area performance throughout the shift ensuring all equipment is in full working order and in the correct place at the correct time.

  • Role performs daily and weekly cleaning of the equipment and the area

  • Role is actively involved in improvement programs and adopts new ways of working

  • Role trains others as required / identified by team leader

  • Role holder must be able to fulfill physical requirements needed to carry out job related tasks whilst meeting Performance and Quality requirements


  • Role requires incumbent to use Manual Handling Equipment eg FLT/EPT etc to move process equipment

  • Role performs other tasks within skillset as required by Team Leader

    Manufacturing background/experience in Pharmaceutical/food environment would be beneficial but we are open to seeing candidates from different industries/backgrounds as long as you are willing to learn

  • Team player

  • Person with a strong work ethic and able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business

  • Good Communication skills - verbal, written, listening

  • Results orientated

  • Experience driving a forklift would be desired but is not essential as full training is given

  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment

    This role is a rotating shift of 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00) as noted below.

    Week 1 - Monday & Tuesday 06:00-18:00, off Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 18:00-06:00, Saturday 18:00-06:00, Sunday 18:00-06:00.

    Week 2 - Monday & Tuesday off, Wednesday 06:00-18:00, Thursday 06:00-18:00, Friday, Saturday, Sunday off.

    The salary for this role is £26,037.74 whilst training and £27,401.85 once training is complete. You will also receive a weekly shift allowance is 109.86.
