Are you ready to make waves in the world of manufacturing? Yunex Traffic, an award-winning team, is on the lookout for a dynamic and skilled Material Handling Operator to join our exciting journey. If you're passionate about innovation and thrive on optimizing processes, we want you on our team! As a Material Handling Operator, you will complete all day-to-day physical stock movements. Picking and shipping stock in addition to receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries safely in a logical manner. Although rarely involved in the direct ordering of materials, the accuracy and initiative shown in this role will help to inform good quality replenishment decisions. This role will also play a key role in counting and verifying stock quantities during regular cycle counts and stock audits as well as maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping in the warehouse environment. Areas of Technical Responsibility / Tasks:

  • Receive, unload and check stock from suppliers, couriers and engineers
  • Pick and issue stock, as detailed on despatch notes, to installers, engineers, internal depots, and customer sites
  • Produce delivery notes when items are despatched
  • Move and store all stock in the warehouse in a safe and tidy manner and in-keeping with the company's health and safety guidelines
  • Ensure the filing of all documentation relating to goods receipt and despatch manifests are kept up to date daily
  • Pass all completed delivery notes on a regular basis to line manager for booking purposes.
  • Assist in carrying out continuous stock checks (Perpetual Inventory Audits) and other stock audits, as and when instructed by line manager
  • Answer incoming calls and e-mails promptly and in a polite and courteous manner
  • Notify line manager of any stock and process related issues when identified
  • Responsible for contractual and company confidential information
  • Responsible for accuracy of own work
  • Undertake appropriate training in line with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training.
  • In accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, all employees have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested within the skills required for the role to enable a seamless service delivery.

    4 GCSE's or National 5's including Mathematics and English (Grades A-C/ or grades 4-9), Reliability/Dependability - Consistently performs at a high level; manages time and workload effectively to meet responsibilities

  • Experience: Desirable;
  • Working as part of a team and working unsupervised
  • Understanding and appreciation of manual handling techniques across a variety of equipment
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar system used for ordering and managing materials in a warehouse environment

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Transferable Counterbalance licence (RTITB Approved Provider)
  • IT Proficient (able to use smart phone/apps/tablets/emails)
  • Familiar with the process of receiving and checking goods in and out of a warehouse operation inc. Order picking and packing of goods.
  • Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
