Full Job Description

The Materials Controller has an important role within the Materials Team. You will be responsible for overviewing the team and making sure that all the below elements are in place and adhered to. You will be required to take control of the tasks set from start to finish. As a major team player, you will be assisting in tasks that you do not own, but will adopt them as your own. This role will also involve some travel to other depots for training and meetings.

Warranty & Repairs Management

  • Control & manage a log of Repairable Material

  • Identify train parts and obtain necessary manufacturer part numbers & serial numbers from the product

  • Transact SAP movements of repairable/defective material into the relevant quarantine location

  • Package up material in relevant boxes or crates or pallets ready for dispatch to Vendors/Warehouse

  • Arrange necessary transport for collections

  • Attend any relevant meetings or calls relating to Warranty & Repairs,

  • Management of reporting of dirty items to Central team alongside assisting with the expediting and control back to the supplier.


  • Auto STO Management and Control
  • Daily reporting

  • Process Daily Purchase requisitions (as required)

  • STO Order Book Management and Progression of deliveries

  • Resolution of local and warehouse GRIP queries


  • KPI Reporting
  • Collate data for daily/weekly/monthly KPI's and report as required to management.


  • Site Specific (and Cross Functional working)
  • Work with line manager to deliver ad hoc site specific tasks on request

  • Assist as required by line manager


  • Stores Assistance
  • Assisting the Stores with tasks when requested by the Materials team

  • Ensure stock audits are conducted and recorded when required.

  • investigate & resolve stock discrepancies when required.


  • Administration & SAP
  • Providing ad-hoc administration support to the Materials team when requested.

  • Goods Receiving consumable items via SAP and resolving any issues when required.

  • Resolving invoice queries with both internal and external stakeholders to satisfactory conclusion in a timely fashion for the avoidance of supply or credit control issues arising.

    Intermediate IT skills - typically Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of SAP or similar databases.
