Full Job Description

Materials Controller / 3-month contract / 17.50 per hour My client is looking for a Materials Controller to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, that has potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a key community-focused organisation, ensuring the efficient delivery of materials and services. You should have strong experience in a similar role and have experience in ordering materials for the completion of works. Role and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, and maintenance teams to understand order requirements and delivery timelines
  • Track orders, review pricing, and provide support on cost-saving initiatives
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain part numbers, pricing, warranty details, and resolve any supply chain issues such as shortages or late deliveries
  • Maintain and update supplier records, ensuring accuracy in all transactions
  • Handle and resolve any discrepancies in orders, prices, or deliveries, and follow up on overdue orders, notifying the team of any significant supplier delays
  • Assist with any purchasing and materials-related administrative tasks as needed

    Previous experience in materials control, procurement, or supply chain management (experience in social housing is a bonus).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently with internal teams and external suppliers to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficient in order tracking, supplier negotiations, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication skills.

    Package:
  • Hourly rate of 17.50
  • Start date of early October
  • Fully site based initially
