Full Job Description
A Materials Controller is needed to join the team at SET, based in Derby on a full-time basis. SET works predominantly within the rail industry and has gained a reputation for quality and timely repairs of a variety of electronic equipment. About SET We are a leading developer of innovative and revolutionary rail traction systems that deliver significant energy and environmental benefits. We are also engaged by mainline rail operators and OEM's to investigate and enhance many existing systems, through remote monitoring, root cause failure investigation and solution delivery., You will be reporting to the Operations Manager and responsibilities include purchasing and processing component parts in and out of stock and processing customer units in and out of stock.,
- Assist in the development of the company's stock management system.
- Purchase stock as required.
- Input purchase orders into the company database.
- Receive stock parts and customer orders.
- Accurately report stock records.
- Efficiently manage stock movements and process transactions both physically and in the company database.
- Audit inventory in accordance with company policy, including conducting audits.
- Ensure goods are dispatched in line with company and customer policies and procedures, with all items correctly labelled.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times.
- Control customer assets, both dirty and repaired.
- Pick and kit parts as required.
- Liaise with internal departments as necessary. This is not an exhaustive list. You may also be asked to undertake any other duties as required by the business, provided you are qualified and trained to do so, that align with the scope, spirit, and purpose of this role.

- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated., Experience in handling delicate/electronic components.
- Computer literate.
- GCSE standard numeracy and literacy., Candidates with previous experience and job titles including; Materials Manager, Inventory Controller, Stock Management Officer, Supply Chain Coordinator, Procurement Specialist, Warehouse Operations Supervisor, Materials Planner, Inventory Analyst, Stock Controller, Logistics Coordinator, Procurement Officer, Supply Chain Manager, Warehouse Inventory Supervisor, Parts Coordinator may also be considered for this role.
