Full Job Description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Materials Management Operative to join our Procurement team., The duties of the post will include:-

  • To visit specific Wards and Departments across SFH sites weekly, take stock of consumable items using a bar coding system and Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's) to ensure timely and accurate ordering of stock items in accordance with agreed levels


  • Ensure stock is unpacked, checked, rotated and put away into storage areas


  • carrying out annual year end stock takes


  • Assist with the implementation of standardisation or rationalisation activities

    Reporting to the Supply Chain Analyst, you must be able to work to tight deadlines and work in accordance with strict procedures. You must be highly self-motivated, be able to work as part of a team, and in addition, be able to use your own initiative. You must have an understanding of stock procedures, be computer literate, and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. The ability to work under pressure is an essential requirement of the post.
