Full Job Description
Are you a dynamic midwife with a passion for complex antenatal care with the inspiration to improve the quality and safety of care for women and babies?, If this is you, we are looking to recruit an experienced midwife into the role of the Maternity Assessment Suite Manager.
Within your role you will be responsible for providing clinical oversight and midwifery leadership for the Maternity Assessment Suite. This role will encompass both managerial and clinical responsibilities, with time dedicated to the managerial role and clinical components.
As the named midwifery lead for the Maternity Assessment Suite you will work in close collaboration with the obstetric and midwifery and multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, effective and evidence based antenatal care. You will provide clinical expertise and visible leadership and will be responsible for the overall organisation and delivery of antenatal care pathways so that standards of professional and clinical practice are in place and monitored to ensure that women receive high quality care that is safe.
As the manager you will be responsible for work force, people and performance management to include timely roster planning, management of the sickness absence policy and budget., Ensure a high standard of midwifery care is delivered by self and others based on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to meet women's needs in accordance with agreed local and National standards and evidence based guidelines.
Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.
Communicate closely with the Maternity Unit and Delivery Suite coordinator's to manage women with a concerning clinical picture.
Staff Management and education and training of junior staff.
You will be responsible for ensuring the midwifery team and care support team are adequately supported and developed to deliver excellent care with compassion
