Maternity Health Care Assistant | Barts Health NHS Trust

Assist with care of women under the direction and supervision of Midwifery trained staff in the hospital and community.MCA's are expected to support the smooth running of maternity services including clinics, day assessment and maternity triage by locating and filing notes, preparing documentation, general housekeeping, stock rotation and ordering; undertake basic care tasks including supporting hydration and nutrition needs of women and their newborn infants, documenting hydration and micturition on fluid balance charts; preparing women for clinical examination and tests, screening and immunisations; and acting as a chaperone.
