Maternity stop smoking advisor

The successful candidate will be part of a small team of advisors who work across the trust providing individualised smoke cessation support to pregnant smokers as part on an opt out referral process. A car driver is preferable but a non driver would be considered. You will support the pregnant smoker to quit using both NRT and behavioural support, this will also involve the use of carbon monoxide monitors at every contact. You will also be involved in supporting them to quit or to stay quit in the immediate post natal period and support other smokers within the household to engage with community stop smoking services to work towards smoke free homes. You will need to be engaging and motivated to encourage the parents to be and other household members to all stop smoking. The role also involves discussing other public health messages that help to improve the health of clients through their pregnancy and the early first weeks as new parents.
