Full Job Description

Are you passionate about providing care to women and their families? We have an the opportunity for MSW's to join our postnatal ward or community.

  • To work as a member of the maternity team, supporting the midwifery staff and assisting the care needs of women and their babies
  • To provide support and guidance to junior colleagues
  • Be able to work in a flexible manner regarding hospital/community placement and shift patterns depending on the needs of the service
  • Will contribute to on-going assessment and recognise when it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment or for expert help and advice, The role of MSWs, Band 3, is to undertake, under the direction and supervision of a registered midwife, tasks and duties for which midwifery training and registration are not required (either by statute or professional guidance). MSWs will have completed the necessary education programme which enables them to complement the care that midwives provide to mothers and their families, responsibly and safely. We will support to candidates wishing to commence or complete their competency framework.
