Full Job Description

The post holder will give Administrative assistance for the Welshpool and Llanidloes Maternity services, based on 18.75 hours per week. The post holder would be expected to share their time over the two bases each week. The post holder would also be expected to spend a day in the Machynlleth Maternity department once a month.

This is a varied role and the need for flexibility and adaptability is essential

To carry out a range of administrative tasks which support the day to day running and functioning of the midwifery team, including retrieving, creating and filing notes , inputting data onto clinical systems, receiving phone calls and ensuring enquiries are dealt with/directed to the correct member of staff.

Main duties of the job

Receive and direct visitors and relatives in a professional and courteous manner.

Answer the telephone, convey messages.

Deal with enquiries from medical staff and the public concerning the admission, transfer and discharge of women.

Inform midwifery staff as women arrive and ensure that women's case notes are available and complete.

Input correct information and accurately use the Welsh Patient Administration System and electronic maternity system.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
