Maternity Support Worker | Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and compassionate Maternity Support Workers with a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey here at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Our nursing teams are committed to caring for our patients and families, delivering consistent, high quality, patient focused care.

You'll communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients, relatives, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, working flexibly across a range of day and night shifts over 7 days a week.

Working under the supervision of Registered Midwives and within Trust guidelines and protocols, you'll assist the Midwifery team in delivering the excellent patient care you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.

Working alongside the Midwifery team, you'll assist in delivering patient focused care to mothers & babies in the Antenatal, Intrapartum & Postpartum periods.

You will support women with personal care needs, including mobilising, toileting, bathing, dressing & providing emotional care & support for families with the care of their baby.

Following on the job training and assessment, you'll learn how to undertake a range of delegated, duties including undertaking & recording observations, breast feeding support & parent education.
