Full Job Description

You will be responsible for managing your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will contribute ideas for new research projects, and develop ideas for generating research income, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers. Other duties will include taking the lead in the preparation of research publications, presenting papers at conferences or public meetings and acting as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on methodologies or procedures.

It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or be close to completion) in a relevant subject such as infectious disease epidemiology, and have experience in mathematical modelling of communicable diseases. You will have a theoretical and practical understanding of a variety of modelling methodologies and a good clinical understanding of the potential uses of vaccines and monoclonal antibodies in a European context. It is essential you have strong programming skills in a modern programming language (preferably Julia), and the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities. Experience in the use of Bayesian methods would be highly desirable.
