Are you passionate about helping students excel in maths while maintaining a healthy work-life balance? Join our team as a Maths Teacher and as well as enjoying no late nights or weekend marking you will also be helping get better trained personnel to the front line faster! Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver "better trained sailors to the front line faster". You will provide Maths tuition to ensure that individuals achieve the educational attainment necessary to commence or complete their Royal Navy training and achieve the necessary educational qualifications for promotion What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering IGCSE maths tuition
  • Delivering Functional Skills and Education for Promotion maths tuition
  • Providing maths tuition up to Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) Level 3 to prepare Service Personnel with the mathematics Skills necessary to complete relevant career courses
  • Conducting initial and diagnostic assessments as required, reviewing the results to put in place an appropriate individual learning plan for learners
  • Invigilating examinations
  • Participating fully as required in teaching and learning observations, inspections, and visits from professional and awarding bodies
  • All teaching is conducted during working hours and there is no requirement to work late or out of hours ensuring a rewarding work/life balance

  • Must have teaching experience teaching/tutoring in GCSE maths
  • Ideally to have Level 3 or above Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards with our support
  • Must have Level 3 or above qualification in maths
  • Willingness to work towards further qualifications
  • Good IT skills using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in supporting learners using remote tutoring skills, would be an advantage
  • Must be able to obtain UK SC clearance, Disability Confident

    Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN.
