Full Job Description

This is an exciting time to join the Major Trauma Network Care Group, with the proposed relocation of acute services and establishment of an identified Major and silver Trauma ward at HRI.

You will also be responsible for and oversee Rehabilitation services on the Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre, Goole and C1 Complex Rehabilitation at Castle Hill Hospital.

You will be expected to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and great organisational skills and be a key player in the coordination and achievement of the National Peer Review Standards for Major Trauma.

As the Matron, you will be required to lead your teams to continually improve the quality of care they provide to their patients. You will work closely with the Clinical leads and operational managers as well as the Governance Leads. You will work in partnership with the Health Group Matrons and Senior Matrons in supporting the Director of Nursing to deliver the quality nursing agenda.

You will play a pivotal role in leading the trusts skin pathway review alongside the hospital improvement team, as well as contributing towards the development of the regional hand unit and day surgery model.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and gain both operational and strategic experience within the specialties, Care Group and Trust., You will play a key role maintaining the patient flows which in turn, will ensure patients received good, timely care. You will work closely with the Departmental Managers within your remit, be a role model for your teams as you lead by example, ensuring professional standards are met through the education and training of staff. Governance is high priority and you will be pro-active in its delivery and encourage shared learning.

Whilst the day to day operational management and delivery of care is a priority, there the need to work towards service improvement so working collaboratively with colleagues in respect of strategic and workforce planning is a key part of the role.
