Full Job Description

This role is patient facing and is critically focused on patient experience, leading by example, motivating and empowering other staff. Matrons will be highly visible and accessible for patients, visitors and staff and will assist the Trust in achieving the strategic objectives., As a respected professional and experienced clinician, the matron will work with the Division to ensure that:
o Practices are quality driven in all areas
o High standards of care are set and delivered
o Patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect, placing value on diversity
o Patients are cared for in a clean environment
o Best practice in infection control is practised
o Monitor and drive CQC fundamental standards and compliance
· Influence patient experience of care through clinical practise, clinical management and leadership, clinical governance, education, research, audit and professional activities.
· Provide clinical leadership across the surgical wards and outpatient departments
Provide line management for specified ward sisters and clinic nurse leads.
The post holder may be required to participate in the Trust's on call management rota.
