An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our outstanding and expanding team at Nottingham Children's Hospital as a Matron for Neonatal Services. This opportunity is for a permanent position as one of 2 Matrons leading two Level 3 units, which in time will come together as a single site through our maternity and neonatal redesign project and Tomorrow's NUH. Supported by the Nottingham Children's Hospital Lead Nurse , the post holder will play a pivotal role in the quality agenda, delivery of care and the continuing development of nursing within the teams, continuing to embed our Children's Hospital Nursing Strategy in all that we do.
As a Matron you will have leadership experience, well developed organisational skills , provide a visible presence with daily clinical and professional leadership and support for nursing.

As a Matron across Neonatal services you will provide day-to-day operational, clinical, professional leadership and support for nursing, maintain quality focused standards as well as linking with other healthcare professionals throughout the services to ensure we continue to provide excellent care to all of our neonates and their families., Please note this is an overview and not an exhaustive list of the job description and main responsibilities.
Provide responsive, compassionate, inclusive leadership and management to promote the highest standards of clinical care, patient safety and experience.
Ensure compliance with prevention and control of infections, monitoring cleaning of the environment.
Workforce management, finance and budgeting.
Ensuring the highest quality education and development of nursing staff within the neonatal units.
To act as a resource, providing advice on professional nursing issues in relation to clinical interventions, policies and protocols, service delivery and service development.
To ensure that appropriate resources are in place to support the delivery of high quality services within areas of responsibility.

If you are aged 16 or 17 and applying for a role that is more than 20 hours a week, please be aware that you will be asked to commence an Apprenticeship within the Trust alongside your role, as long as there is a suitable apprenticeship standard available. We provide care for tertiary level neonatal care for premature babies and their families at Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, we are the north hub in the East Midlands for neonatal intensive care. We are proud to offer both medical and surgical intensive care for extremely premature and very sick infants, as well as having an integrated outreach team in place to support babies and families once they return home., Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

+ Transfer of information: If I have previous NHS service - I consent to the transfer of my Electronic Staff Record (ESR) data between this and other NHS Trusts. I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
+ Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£42.90 for enhanced and £22.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month's pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
