Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our Acute Care at Home team. This will be a band 8a position
The Matron - Quality and Safety will work with other matron colleagues, Senior Sisters and Charge Nurses, Quality Nurses, Clinical Leads and other colleagues to champion and lead clinical quality and patient safety improvements, inspiring and enabling medical, nursing and allied health and managerial colleagues to develop and maintain quality and safety measures and sustain improvements.
They will work closely with the Head of Nursing, Matrons and clinical leads to ensure that comprehensive mechanisms are in place to manage and measure quality, its assurance and improvement, enabling the Trust to excel in achieving best practice and continuous improvement against national and local standards and ensure that appropriate training is provided to clinical and managerial teams, as necessary., he Matron - Quality and Safety will support the Head of Nursing to play a key role in supporting the Acute Care at Home functions to deliver their agreed objectives, targets and quality standards within the set resource controls and constraints and in line with the Trust wide vision and strategy. They will ensure that where nursing and midwifery practice falls short of required standards, appropriate plans and support are in place to secure improvements. The Matron - Quality and Safety will lead on the implementation and monitoring of the Trust Care Excellence Framework.
The post holder will support the Head of Nursing to develop and maintain strong working relationships with other health care providers, Integrated Care Board (ICB) Quality leads, CQC relationship managers and other organisations relevant to the work of the Trust within the patient safety and risk management agenda
The Quality and Safety Matron role will require you to work independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with a wide range of health and social care professionals. In addition to providing delegated elements of training, audit, and clinical support programmes, you will be required to have the knowledge and skill to provide palliative care advice and clinical support to a range of healthcare professionals, and to work closely with specialist colleagues., The Matron - Quality and Safety will support the Head of Nursing to play a key role in supporting the Acute Care at Home functions to deliver their agreed objectives, targets and quality standards within the set resource controls and constraints and in line with the Trust wide vision and strategy. A passionate commitment to Quality and Safety in the community is essential. Practice innovation, self- motivation and excellent communication skills are vital. The role may be particularly suited to nurses with a dynamic, confident, self-aware approach, who can influence practice by coordinating partnership working, and by demonstrating excellent leadership and motivational skills to enhance the patient and family experience.
