We are recruiting a Matron to join our friendly team where we have a dedicated and supportive multidisciplinary team who pride themselves on providing the highest quality patient focused care.

· Staff Benefits - We have a range of staff benefits and schemes to support staff health, engagement, wellbeing and inclusion., The Planned and Surgical Care Directorate is responsible for delivering high quality and effective Medical and Nursing Care to patients within the hospital base, outpatients and community settings.
This includes patients within the following specialties which this role is responsible for:
· Multiple Specialities within the Trust related to surgery
· Main Theatres
· Day Surgery
· Anaesthetics
· Pain management
· Critical Care Unit
· Critical Care Out-Reach
· Theatre Admissions
· Pre-Operative Assessment
· Wharfedale Theatres
Main theatre comprises of 5 elective theatres and 1 emergency obstetric theatre, providing high quality care to a range of patients undergoing surgical procedures, operating 24hours 7 days a week covering acute, trauma, elective and obstetric surgery.
Day surgery theatres comprises of 3 elective theatres, providing high quality care to adults and children undergoing surgical procedures Monday - Saturday.
Includes a day ward unit to facilitate day case surgery.
Pre-assessment is a team of nurse led practitioners providing high quality pre-operative assessment for patients awaiting surgery.
Critical Care comprises of level 3 and level 2 high quality care for patients who require medical and surgical care.
The Critical Care outreach team support the organisation and the unit.
The PSC directorate is responsible for:
+ Identifying their strategic direction within the boundaries of the Trust strategic direction
+ The implementation of the strategic direction
+ The management of all resources within their remit both human and material
+ The risk management arrangements
+ The monitoring of quality of care arrangements
+ Delivering on action plans to improve performance, patients safety or financial balance
+ The performance against key performance indicators and activity plans
+ Delivery of the financial plan
To work as part of the PSC Management Team, the post holder is expected to work independently and flexibly to manage his or her own workload and that of the department.

Theatre and Critical care services are growing within Harrogate with a new theatre complex about to start being built, providing two new theatres and procedure rooms. A successful business case has seen a one million pound investment in our critical care staffing which is being introduced in stages.
