Full Job Description
The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met doctoral students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. The purpose of this role is twofold:
- To assist the team with MBA workshops delivered in a HyFlex approach
- To support and enhance the MBA students' educational experience., You will be required to work one day per week (7.5 hours per day - excluding lunch break which will be provided)
- There is also a requirement to attend an-hour-long training session (date TBC) prior to the work commencing
- You will be asked to support the teaching for a total of two days over the period of 5 - 7 Feb 2025 and 10 - 12 Feb 2025 Preparation Preparation for each individual HyFlex class ahead of delivery:
- Meet with the teaching team to discuss module content and delivery structure
- Familiarise yourself with the module design and meet with the faculty to discuss module content and delivery structure
- Familiarise yourself with all required technology, procedures and documentation (reporting, training)
- Set up the technology in the room ahead of class
- Assist remote students to connect to the class as required
- Share materials ensuring that they are functioning to the best of their ability with the technology
- Share synchronous class materials supplied by the faculty, as requested by the academic lead. Support To support the faculty in the classroom, including:
- Assisting in the delivery of HyFlex classes over the duration of the module, as instructed by the academic lead, including duties such as registering attendance and helping students move between main Hyflex room (7.04) and meeting pods (7.06)
- Fielding questions from the remote students - this may involve both answering questions from students and flagging them to the teaching team
- Facilitating group-work and breakout sessions (online and in class)
- Supporting the in-class delivery of any online activities/quizzes/polls
- Managing and troubleshooting technical issues during the HyFlex class.
- Communicating with IT&D team responsible for HyFlex for any issues Communication Communicating with both the class and the module team as and when required:
- Build relationships with the programme teams and communicate with them when necessary
- Coordinate with programme teams on class changes to ensure smooth delivery
- Maintain regular contact with the module team to ensure the material is ready for HyFlex classes, is effective in class and that no major problems/issues arise
- Meet with the module leader to review. Training Attend training and ensure technical support skills and competencies are refined:

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Doctoral Students who meet the following requirements 1. Currently studying towards a PhD 2. Well-organised and professional 3. Excellent inter-personal skills 4. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) 5. IT literacy and ability to work with in-classroom technology 6. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential
