Full Job Description
- Mechanical design of instruments and peripherals
- Design to meet requirements of product manager, manufacturing, service, support and installation.
- Mechanical design of jigs and fixtures for manufacture and test
- Planning and management of deliverables on time
- Supplier selection, quality inspection and handover to procurement
- Design and documentation of prototype and instrument testing to meet mechanical requirements
- Consideration to component supply cost, lead time and end of life
BEng or Higher. Experience in CAD packages especially Solid Works. - 10+ years in relevant industry.
- Start-up, deep technology, combined hardware/software products, laser spectroscopy preferred.
- Full product development lifecycle from inception to market maturity.
- Design for Manufacture, Service & Support.
- Supplier selection and management. Prototyping using 3D printers as well as short run parts. Testing against regulations including environmental and shipping\handling.
- Experience designing and conducting sub-component and final product testing is important.
- Packaging design for shipment experience desirable.
