Full Job Description

We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineered to Order (ETO) Medium Voltage and Package Sub-Station Design Team in Leeds. In this role you will have the opportunity to take technical ownership of customer design requirements and be accountable for effective delivery of all technical aspects, within allocated timescales, from receiving order to final customer satisfaction., # Creation of Electro-mechanical ETO designs from initial concepts through to a final engineered solution, while considering product variations and core design restrictions - adapting core designs to suit customer requirements.
# Liaise with technical teams to ensure design solutions meet required standards/specifications and technical approval.
# Liaise and providing technical support to Contracts/Project Engineers to ensure customer approval of designs and overall customer satisfaction. Liaising directly with customers when required.
# Creation of 3D models/assemblies using Pro-Engineer and 2D layout drawings using AutoCad, creation of 2D detailed drawings using Pro-Engineer or AutoCad.
# Creation of part/assembly/kit references and Bills of Material on MRP system (SAP).
# Support Purchasing, Logistics and Quality Assurance teams, providing necessary drawings and technical information.
# Creation of basic ETO assembly procedure/guide to assist the shopfloor during production.

# Knowledge of MV switchgear & Package Sub-Station or a similar industry is desirable.
# Proficient in the design of mechanical systems, structures, and assemblies to deliver safe, functioning, and reliable products while considering existing manufacturing and assembly techniques.
# Proficient in the use of both 3D and 2D mechanical design tools such as Pro- Engineer (3D) and AutoCAD (2D), or other similar design software packages.
# Candidate must be enthusiastic, conscientious with good problem-solving skills.
# Fluency in English (written and verbal) is an essential.
Education
# Ideally the candidate should be qualified with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, although an HND/HNC would be considered with relevant experience in the industry.
# Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering position or similar role, with proven engineering design skills.
