The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are delighted to advertise an opening to join our Radiotherapy Mechanical Engineering Team as a Specialist Clinical Technologist.

Working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, this is an exciting opportunity to be become part of a highly diverse team, working collaboratively with clinical and scientific staff to provide specialist medical engineering services to support the clinical radiotherapy service and wider organisation.

You will lead and participate in equipment maintenance activity within the radiotherapy department as well as playing a large role in the design and development of new devices to improve patient care and staff experience throughout the hospital., Diagnose, maintain, and repair radiotherapy pre-treatment and treatment delivery systems.
- Operating at an advanced technical level to provide advice and design solutions for complex radiotherapy problems.
- Creating accurate and detailed engineering drawings utilising both 2D sketch & 3D model methods.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records of medical equipment maintenance and fault resolution.
- Train and mentor medical engineering apprentices and trainees.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Healthcare Science, or Clinical Technology (Engineering).
- Professional registration as a Clinical Technologist or equivalent, open to unregistered applicants at a lower grade.
- Knowledge and practical experience of a variety of manufacturing processes, both subtractive and additive.
- A high level of proficiency at diagnosing and solving complex electro-mechanical problems on medical equipment.
- Computer aided design skills.
- Demonstrable organisational, project and medical equipment management skills
- Strong team working and communication skills.
